Asley Westwood gifted Jake Sheridan the winning goal
An awful blunder from Wrexham defender Ashley Westwood gifted Jake Sheridan Tamworth's winner at The Lamb.
The visitors took the lead with a fine goal, Mark Jones freeing Gareth Taylor with an astute pass for the veteran striker to fire home from 20 yards.
Wrexham had two penalty appeals denied, then Lambs captain Chris Smith powered in a header from Tom Shaw's corner.
Tamworth took control and when Westwood gave away possession on the edge of his area Sheridan made no mistake.
The Lambs remain unbeaten in the league this season, with two victories and three draws.
The Dragons will hope that new signing Frank Sinclair can inspire them after a second successive defeat - and their sixth successive loss on the road in the Blue Square Premier.
The former Chelsea and Leicester City defender was an unused substitute on the night.
Wrexham manager Dean Saunders: "We scored a great goal, battled away and looked quite dangerous. They kept getting in behind our back four - I'm not happy about that.
"How the referee's not given a penalty for us to go 2-0 up is beyond me... I never come out here hammering refs but that was just laughable out there.
"[On the first goal] I can't go on the pitch and head the ball away... the second goal was just a ridiculous mistake and it kills us.
"I'm getting fed up of saying the same things. We just committed suicide."
