Kettering took full advantage of poor Wrexham defending to claim the spoils at the Racecourse.
Striker Damian Spencer set the visitors on the way on 25 minutes when he scored with a free header at the back post.
And some sloppy defending allowed midfielder Patrick Noubissie to fire in number two just after the break.
Wrexham responded with a Mansour Assomani goal 11 minutes later to give his side hope but it was too little, too late for Dean Saunders' side.
Wrexham played the last 10 minutes with just 10 men after keeper Sam Russell was carried off after suffering an elbow injury.
Midfielder Hedi Taboubi deputised for Russell between the sticks.
