Michael Frew scored Histon's opener then got himself sent off just six minutes later as the Stutes earned their first home win of the season.
Frew converted Wright's cross just after the half-hour mark to put the home side 1-0 ahead.
But he then saw red for a professional foul on Salisbury's Stuart Anderson.
The visitors were unable to find an equaliser and Danny Wright superb 20-yard strike nine minutes from time made sure of the victory.
