Wrexham 1-0 York City

Gareth Taylor continued his impressive goal-scoring start for Wrexham as the former Wales striker struck the winner in a 1-0 victory over York City.

The veteran headed home Andrew Fleming's cross from inside the box just before the hour to give Wrexham their second Blue Square Premier win.

York, though, could have taken an early lead but Wrexham keeper Sam Russell saved Michael Gash's shot.

Adrian Cieslewicz and Gash went close for York late on but Wrexham held out.

Wrexham manager Dean Saunders:
"It was important we won today after Saturday and we looked comfortable Saturday.

"They [York] had more shots tonight than Crawley did [on Saturday]. But we defended all the set plays well.

"They had one chance right at the end. We defended all the long throws well.

"The delivery from ours wasn't as good as it normally is into the box and we could have scored a couple from that, but the delivery wasn't right."
