Cliff Akurang's second-half strike secured a hard-fought away point for Rushden & Diamonds at Eastbourne.
Diamonds almost took the lead when Aaron O'Connor's shot went wide.
Eastbourne responded and Simon Weatherstone saw a fine volley go just wide before he opened the scoring with another volley on 29 minutes.
The visitors started the second half brightly and levelled when Akurang tapped home from close range following a Lee Tomlin cross.
