Danny Kedwell scored either side of the break as AFC Wimbledon secured victory over Kettering at Rockingham Road.
The Dons striker put the visitors ahead with a close-range header from Chris Hussey's free-kick after seven minutes.
The decisive goal came in the 66th minute when Patrick Noubissie brought down Jay Conroy in the area and Kedwell drilled home the spot-kick.
Danny Thomas pulled a goal back for the home side with 16 minutes remaining, heading home Francis Green's cross.
