Joe Keenan struck to ensure rock-bottom Lewes ended life in the Blue Square Premier with a 1-1 draw against York.
Mark Greaves looked set to hand York only their fourth win in 11 games when he appeared unmarked in the area to slam home 10 minutes from time.
But the Rooks did not give up and six minutes later Keehan headed home Frederick Foreman's angled cross.
The Minstermen dominated in the second half, with Richard Brodie and Steve Hogg denied by keeper Rikki Banks.
