Histon slipped out of the play-off places as they were held to a goalless draw at home by mid-table Rushden.

Both sides created their fair share of chances in the first half, with Michael Rankine going closest for Rushden with an overhead kick that flew wide.

Meanwhile, Rushden keeper Dale Roberts did well to keep out Mat Mitchell-King's header before Histon defender Lanre Oyebanjo fired a drive wide.

Histon substitute Neil Andrews also went close before the game petered out.
