York remain in the relegation zone after a stalemate against fellow strugglers Barrow at Holker Street.
Richard Brodie almost put them ahead after 16 minutes but his goalbound effort was blocked by Simon Spender.
Tim Deasy tipped over a Christian Smith header, and as York continued to press Adam Boyes poked a good chance wide.
After the break Barrow should have scored but Lee McEvilly headed straight at the keeper, while Brodie was denied by Deasy in the final minute.
Barrow: Deasy, Spender, Jones, McNulty, Jelleyman, McGill, Boyd, Bond, Logan (Brown 90), Walker (Hunt 87), McEvilly (Rogan 86).
