Wrexham ended their four-match winless run with a controlled victory at home against Mansfield Town on Saturday.
The Dragons took a 10th-minute lead when Mansfield's Scott Garner handled a cross from Silvio Spann in the area.
Obi Anoruo tucked the resulting penalty low into the corner and Wrexham doubled their lead when another Spann delivery invited Andrew Crofts to head home.
Mansfield had the ball in the net as a high ball caused confusion, but Robert Duffy was adjudged offside.
Wrexham penalty scorer Obi Anoruo: "I just said 'give me the ball' and hopefully I'll put it away, and that's what I've done.
"It's still a bit edgy 2-0 and the third goal was vital but we never got it, so that's why we had to grind down to the 90 minutes and get another win.
"Hopefully we are (within touching distance of the play-offs), the teams around us are playing each other so if they slip up hopefully we've still got a chance."
