Chris Robertson and Blair Sturrock fired Torquay to a comfortable win over rival promotion contenders Kettering.
Robertson thumped an early opener past Kettering goalkeeper Lee Harper from six yards to set the Gulls on the road to their 11th match without defeat.
On 64 minutes Sturrock ensured that the Gulls would finish the day in third place by converting Nicky Wroe's pass.
Gareth Seddon blazed over late on for Kettering, who struggled in the absence of key midfielder Darren Wrack.
