Grays climbed out of the Blue Square Premier relegation zone with a crucial win over 10-man York, who drop into the relegation places as a result.

On-loan striker Andy Pugh struck for Grays, firing into the top-left corner from inside the box.

Mark Greaves nearly restored parity in the second half but headed Simon Rusk's free-kick wide of the target.

Rusk was sent off for York deep into injury time for foul and abusive language to compound the visitors woe.
