Mansfield 1-1 Torquay

Blair Sturrock
Sturrock's loan spell also includes the play-offs if Torquay make them

Loan signing Blair Sturrock marked his debut with a goal as high-flying Torquay drew at Mansfield to extend their unbeaten run to nine matches.

Sturrock rattled the bar with a 35-yard strike in the first half before Robert Duffy put the Stags ahead from close range, his sixth goal of the season.

Chris Todd wasted a chance to equalise soon after the interval.

But a moment of quality from Sturrock, who lobbed keeper Alan Marriott on 64 minutes, earned them a deserved point.

Torquay United manager Paul Buckle told BBC Radio Devon:

"We just couldn't push on and get two or three goals, but certainly our play did deserve more in the second half.

"We created more chances but that's sort of been our story this season.

"But it's nine unbeaten and if we're going to be lucky to get in those play-offs you're going to need momentum and performances like that."
