Djoumin Sangare's header earned Salisbury a point against Rushden.
The visitors broke the deadlock after 18 minutes when Robert Wolleaston sent a left-footed shot into the bottom corner following Jake Beecroft's pass.
They should have extended their lead but Lee Tomlin's header was saved and Michael Corcoran fired wide.
Rushden were made to pay after 78 minutes when Sangare headed home Darrell Clarke's corner.
