Crawley completed a Blue Square Premier double over Wrexham with a 2-0 victory at The Racecourse to dent the play-off hopes of one of their biggest rivals.
Wrexham's Michael Proctor had a goal ruled out for offside before Isaiah Rankin's header broke the deadlock as he nodded in Michael Malcolm's ball.
Robbie Matthews doubled Crawley's lead with a strike from the edge of the box.
Nathan Fairhurst and Ryan Flynn went close but could not prevent defeat for Wrexham, who've won just once in seven.
Wrexham manager Dean Saunders said: "The goals we conceded were awful again, we keep committing defensive suicide.
"I can't see how Proctor was offside for his goal and then they go down the other end to score.
"I've analysed all of the goals teams have scored against us and no-one has scored a good one but we brushed them aside because we kept winning.
"We had too many players off-par against Crawley, we were anxious at 0-0 so you can imagine how we felt when went 2-0 down.
"Their second goal was absolutely ridiculous, it was a mix-up between the centre-back and the goalkeeper. If you want to win anything you cannot concede goals like that on a regular basis."
