Gary Whild feels Gary Hay will be a good replacement for the suspended Marvin Robinson
Redditch United manager Gary Whild has boosted his striking options with the signing of much-travelled Gary Hay.
Whild told BBC Hereford and Worcester that, with Marvin Robinson facing a four-match ban, he needed cover.
"Gary will be just a like-for-like straight swap, and I am sure he will do a good job for us," he said.
"Marvin's ban is a blow to us, but we will just have to get on with it and hopefully he won't prove to be too much of a miss," he added.
Redditch head to promotion-chasing Harrogate off the back of a frustrating 1-0 home defeat by Stalybridge Celtic.
While he was obviously disappointed by the outcome, Gary Whild felt there were plenty of plus points to take from was a solid Redditch performance.
"The performance last Saturday was probably as well as we have played this season," he said.
"Unfortunately we missed a penalty and didn't take our chances so we ended up with nothing.
"But the encouraging thing is that if we get to that level of performance consistently between now and the end of the season then we'll be ok," he added.
Harrogate Town are within a point of the Blue Square North play-off places and have been beaten only twice at home in the league this season, so they will clearly be a tough test for Redditch.
Gary Whild acknowledges this, but also points out that his side's away form has been very solid throughout the campaign.
He says there is no reason why they shouldn't be heading to Yorkshire confident of being able to cause a shock.
"Games are coming up thick and fast now and probably no tougher when we go up to Harrogate," he said.
"But we have had some cracking results on our travels this seasons so there is no reason why we can't add to that on Saturday."
