Torquay's Blue Square Premier promotion hopes suffered after they were held to a draw by Rushden at Plainmoor.

Tim Sills gave the home side the lead when he headed in Mustapha Carayol's corner four minutes before half-time.

But Lee Tomlin equalised for the visitors in the second half when he converted Gareth Jelleyman's ball.

Torquay had the best of the other chances, with Lee Mansell's goalbound volley blocked, while Kevin Nicholson was thwarted by Robert Wolleaston.
