Grays 1-2 Torquay

A late Wayne Carlisle goal earned Torquay victory at Grays.

The visitors opened the scoring after 13 minutes when Kevin Nicholson collected Nicky Wroe's pass and fired in a left-footed shot from 30 yards.

Grays replied before half-time when on-loan midfielder Tony Dinning sent a 25-yard free-kick into the top corner.

Both sides pushed for a winner in the second half but Torquay snatched it when Carlisle headed home Elliot Benyon's cross three minutes from time.
