Hinckley United secured a well-deserved point from an even game away against Blue Square North promotion-hopefuls Southport on Tuesday.
The Knitters could have taken the lead when Alex Taylor shot into the side netting early on.
Andy Hall also went close with a stinging shot after the break.
The closest the home side came to breaking the deadlock was when Knitters keeper Chris MacKenzie made a smart save to deny Robbie Booth late on.
