Barrow and Grays fought out a draw in an encounter that burst into life early in the second half.
Jason Walker opened the scoring for Barrow after 59 minutes when he fired home a low shot from six yards.
Grays equalised after 65 minutes as Jamie Stuart played in Andy Pugh, whose right-footed shot beat keeper Alan Martin from 20 yards.
Barrow almost stole the win as Matt Henney headed over, although George Beavon also went close for Grays.
Barrow co-manager Darren Sheridan told BBC Radio Cumbria:"I thought the lads did well, we battled and were on top for most of the game.
"I'm disappointed we didn't take the three points, to concede - one shot they've had and they've scored.
"We've got to keep plugging away - the commitment is there."
