Salisbury moved four points clear of the Blue Square Premier relegation zone thanks to Charlie Griffin's second-half strike against 10-man Woking.
Defender Abdou El Kholti was sent off for a 48th-minute professional foul on Charles Ademeno.
From the resulting free-kick the home side struck when Griffin drove home Darrell Clarke's lay off.
Salisbury should have extended their lead but Clarke, Griffin and Chris Todd all missed chances.
