New signing Paul Mayo had a memorable debut for Mansfield as he scored the winner to condemn Lewes to a sixth consecutive league defeat.

Mayo's left-footed strike sneaked into the bottom right of the net from 25 yards on 22 minutes.

Mayo almost extended the lead but goalkeeper Rikki Banks denied him.

Josh Klein-Davies almost equalised for Lewes with a drilled effort from 18 yards but goalkeeper Alan Marriott tipped it around the post.
