Barrow left it late but deserved to edge out Kidderminster to stay out of the Blue Square Premier drop zone.
Jason Walker secured the win with an 86th-minute header after Barrow had looked to have spurned their best chances of taking all three points.
The Bluebirds striker met a Mark Boyd cross for his 10th goal of the season.
Earlier, Walker and Nat Kerr had both gone close for Barrow, while Andy Ferrell missed Kidderminster's best chance with a shot from six yards.
Harriers manager Mark Yates told BBC Hereford and Worcester: "If we were ruthless, we would have won the game comfortably.
"We weren't and unfortunately it's come back to bite us.
"But compared to last week it was one hell of a lot better.
"I've just said to my players that, if we perform like that, keep creating the chances we've created and keep believing, then we'll get to wherever we want to get."
