Wrexham ended a run of three draws with a comfortable Blue Square Premier victory over Cambridge at the Racecourse Ground on Thursday.
The win boosted the Dragons' play-off hopes while Cambridge dropped out of the top five.
A 25th-minute goal from Jonathan Brown and top-scorer Jefferson Louis' 59th-minute strike ensured Wrexham's win.
The Dragons have now claimed 30 points from a possible 39 since Dean Saunders took over as manager.
Striker Brown got his reward with a testing shot across the goal-mouth while fellow front-man Louis hit home amid a scramble in the 18-yard box.
Wrexham manager Dean Saunders: "I'm really pleased because we played like a team today.
"I think that's the best we've played as a team for everybody doing their job right where we didn't make any suicidal mistakes at the back.
"Everybody cleared the ball when they should, didn't miss headers - the back four read every flick-on.
"They're a difficult team to play against because they hook balls over the top of you.
"They put in a lot of long balls and they've got some decent players to come away with three points there, I'm really pleased.
"There were a lot of good performances from the players."
