Beckett has scored four goals in Trinity's last three games
Gainsborough Trinity manager Steve Charles was left to rue his sides lapse defending after their 5-3 defeat at Southport in Blue Square North.
Southport were 3-0 up after 15 minutes thanks to goals from Ashley Winn, Ciaran Kilheeney and Alan Moogan.
Trinity managed to pull level through Luke Beckett and Ian Ross, with Bobby Wilson equalising three minutes into the second half.
Steve Daly's restored Southport's lead and Winn's second goal sealed the win.
Gainsborough manager Steve Charles was unhappy with his side's defensive display, with three of the goals conceded coming from corners.
He told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "We're normally better organised than that at set pieces.
"You can accept certain things but when they're bad goals like that there's no excuse, it was just really poor defending.
"Earlier in the year we kept clean sheets but couldn't score, and in the last two games we've scored six against two of the top sides but only come out with a point, so we need to work hard at the other end now."
