Stevenage needed an injury-time penalty from Mitchell Cole to grab a point in a controversial finish away to Cambridge.

Cole kept his cool to beat Danny Potter from the spot after Paul Carden was judged to have fouled David Bridges.

Cambridge defender Daniel Gleeson then received a red card for protesting too vehemently against the decision.

On-loan striker Scott Rendell had given Cambridge the lead in the third minute when he swept home Gleeson's cross for his fifth goal for the club.
