Jamie Slabber's second-half strike gave Grays a win at Ebbsfleet which moves the Essex side out of the bottom four.

In a dour first half, Ebbsfleet striker Michael Gash failed to test Steven Arnold with a close-range header and Stacy Long shot straight at the keeper.

George Purcell twice had long-range efforts saved before the home side were made to pay for their wasted chances.

Grays substitute Slabber headed home Wesley Thomas's cross from one of the only openings created by the visitors.
