Redditch's Valley Stadium pitch is affected by frost and heavy rain

Redditch United have called off Tuesday night's Blue Square North home match against Fleetwood Town.

Redditch manager Gary Whild said that there were a number of factors behind the Valley Stadium postponement.

"I have been here for an hour or so working on the pitch," Whild told BBC Herford & Worcester. "And part of it is still affected by frost.

"Then the heavy rain moved in and this proved the final straw. We had no option but to call the off the game."
