Torquay moved to the top of the Blue Square Premier thanks to two goals from both Tim Sills and Danny Stevens.

Sills opened the scoring when he headed home Kevin Nicholson's right-wing cross and Stevens doubled Torquay's lead with a tap-in.

Sills headed home his second from the 12 yards out and Stevens notched again just after the re-start when he drilled home from the edge of the area.

Scott Taylor pulled a goal back for Lewes when he scored from close range.
