Wivenhoe Town are calling on the community to come out and support them at a crisis meeting.
The Ridgeons Premier Division club are fighting to secure their future following the departure of manager Richard Carter.
An Extraordinary General Meeting has been called for Thursday where Wivenhoe will appeal for financial aid.
They are also looking for help on matchdays with jobs around their Broad Lane ground.
There is a real chance this club could go out of business
Wivenhoe spokesman Nick Murphy-Whymark
Wivenhoe spokesman Nick Murphy-Whymark told BBC Essex: "I'm hoping that people will come along and offer help in every way possible."
Wivenhoe dropped out of the Ryman League last season and have been on a steady decline since the mid-1990s.
Murphy-Whymark said: "We are in trouble and there is a danger we could go out of business but if we get the support of the community I hope we can give it a go."
The meeting is at 2000 GMT at Broad Lane on Thursday.
