Chris Senior hit the only goal after just 12 seconds as Altrincham put a dent in Mansfield's good start.

Senior broke through and scored right-footed from the edge of the area.

Jason Lee, Jonathan D'Laryea and Mark Stallard all found their long-range efforts thwarted by Robins keeper Stuart Coburn.

The keeper also saved from Nathan Arnold and Alan O'Hare, Gavin Hurren later heading over as the Stags tried in vain to equalise.
