Gayle will celebrate his 38th birthday at the end of September

Marcus Gayle has returned to Blue Square South club AFC Wimbledon as reserve-team manager.

Gayle, 37, left the Dons when he ended his playing career - which included a spell with Wimbledon FC - in May.

Dons boss Terry Brown told nonleaguedaily.com: "Marcus brings with him a wealth of experience of playing at the highest level."

Gayle added: "I only really wanted to be at Wimbledon and I am glad this has been settled so quickly."
