Chelmsford on the up - Rainford

Chelmsford City midfielder Dave Rainford wants his side to build on their impressive start to the season.

The newly-promoted Clarets are third in Blue Square South and Rainford told BBC Essex: "There is more to come.

"We've got a few new players in the squad and we've got to gel and learn each other's games.

"This is a club on the up. We're regularly getting over a thousand fans every week and we can only grow if we maintain this level of performance."

Rainford, who moved to Melbourne Park from Dagenham and Redbridge in June, thinks teams have already realised that City pose a threat but is confident they can keep up their impressive form.

"I've noticed teams have been raising their games against us - but that's a challenge," he added.

"We're aware teams will shut up shop against us - the onus is on us to break them down, which I believe we can."
