Torquay claimed a last-gasp victory after Wayne Carlisle's fine finish in the final minute at Cambridge United.
The home side saw their best chance of the game when striker Chris Holroyd slashed wildly over from six yards when a corner was not cleared.
Carlisle nearly opened the scoring for the Gulls in the first half but his low shot was turned away by Danny Potter.
The visitors got the winner when Carlisle bent his shot beyond Potter and into the top corner.
