Darby enjoyed playing spells with Hull and Shrewsbury

Bromsgrove Rovers have sacked player-manager Duane Darby after only 12 months in charge.

Rovers were relegated to the Southern League Midlands Division last season and have only won one game so far this term.

"We thought we'd give him the chance after last year but results haven't gone our way," Rovers chairman Tom Herbert told BBC Hereford & Worcester.

"We had a board meeting yesterday and it was a unanimous decision."

Daryl Burgess will take control of first-team affairs until a new manager is appointed.
