Substitute Sam Smith's 83rd-minute goal rescued a point for Rushden & Diamonds at Northamptonshire rivals Kettering.

Former Rushden striker Gareth Seddon put the Poppies ahead, ghosting in to convert Chris Beardsley's cross after eight minutes.

Rushden upped the pressure after the break, with Michael Rankine, Lee Phillips and Lee Tomlin having shots scrambled away before Smith struck.

Neither side could find a winner in seven minutes of stoppage time.
