Redditch United manager Gary Whild has confirmed that experienced defender Matt Clarke has left Valley Stadium.

The former Hereford United man was part of a mass brawl at Southport last season and Whild says this was a factor in the decision.

"Matt's gone on record saying he wasn't happy with what he'd done," he told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"It had become untenable for both parties, but it's a shame for Matt because he's been a terrific servant."
