Relish hopes to add to Bath squad

Bath City manager John Relish says his team have plenty to build on for next season, despite just missing out on the Blue Square South play-offs this year.

City finished in eighth place, after a 1-1 draw at Bishop's Stortford.

"We've got a good defence, and we've managed to keep those lads," he told BBC Radio Bristol. "We think we've kept the players that can push us forward.

"Now we've got to add the three, four, or five faces that will improve on who we've already got."

We've done our homework, and we've got a list of 15 or 16 players

Bath City boss John Relish
The Bath City boss feels his team have come a long way in their first season after coming up from the Southern League Premier, but the challenge of improving the squad for another promotion push is not going to be easy.

"We're going to be competing with clubs similar to ourselves with similar financial muscle," he explained.

"We've done our homework, and we've got a list of 15 or 16 players. How many of those we can get in, we'll have to see."
