Chairman Simon Cope watches France sign his new contract

Scarborough Athletic manager Brian France has agreed a new two-year deal to stay with the Northern Counties East League club until June 2010.

France joined the club just days after it was formed last June and has led them to the verge of a top-five finish after forming a squad from scratch.

Chairman Simon Cope said: "We are delighted Brian has signed to stay with us for at least the next two seasons.

"His ambition for success on the pitch matches that of the club off it."

He added: "That can only bode extremely well for the future."
