Aldershot all but secured promotion to League Two with victory over relegation-threatened Stafford.

Stafford should have taken the lead but Ishmael Reid's shot was tipped around the post by a vigilant Nikki Bull.

As it was the league leaders went in front when Rob Elvins curled Louis Soares' cross into the corner.

The hosts equalised when Nick Wellecombe headed in Nathan Smith's cross before John Grant nodded home Scott Donnelly's corner for the win.
