Dave Roberts is delighted about his loan deal (Allan Phillips) |
AFC Telford United will give new signing Dave Roberts his full debut on Saturday against Hyde United. Roberts, who has joined on loan from Burscough until the end of the season, is due to make his debut in defence.
The 19-year-old was nicknamed 'Mr Versatile' at Burscough for his ability to play in defence and midfield.
The teenager told BBC Radio Shropshire: "It was a real shock to hear they wanted me on loan. It's nice because it's a big club."

He is now looking forward to the challenge: "Burscough have been doing well and obviously Telford have as well. It's a new experience for me.
Roberts has had spells at Wigan Athletic as a trainee and a loan spell with Blackpool before moving to Burscough.
Telford manager Rob Smith believes his new man is a top signing: "He's always impressed me every time I've seen him play, he's very consistent, I think he's going to have a good future in the game.
"There's no chance we're going to be able to keep him, but he's a good addition for us."
The Bucks take on Hyde United at the New Bucks Head as they look to get back to winning ways after losing 2-1 at Boston last week.
