St Paul's are through to the Wheway Cup final after beating Rozel 4-0. |
St Paul's made it through to the final of the inter-island Wheway Cup at a canter after beating Rozel Rovers 4-0 at Les Quennevais on Wednesday. Saints had two more goals disallowed and hit the woodwork as Rovers had no answer for Jersey's form side.
Jon Fitzmaurice opened the scoring on 17 minutes and doubled his tally with a 20-yard free-kick on 35 minutes.
Island striker Craig Leitch made it 3-0 on 77 minutes before John-Paul Martyn got the fourth a minute later.
Rozel, whose dreams of retaining the trophy are now over, had no answer to the Saints as they played with five at the back and Scott Healey up front on his own.
It means St Paul's will now face Trinity in the final at Springfield on 5 April. The parish side beat Guernsey league leaders Belgrave Wanderers in the other semi-final last month.
