Barry Quinn scored the only goal of the game for Oxford as Droylsden continued their winless run away from home. The U's captain netted from 12 yards out after Adam Murray found space for a cross from the right channel.
Droylsden struggled to muster a single shot on target until the 65th minute, when Ashley Burberry's 25-yard effort was saved by Billy Turley.
Droylsden are still without a win from the 15 away games played so far this season and are 14 points from safety.
