Smith looks set to stay with Worcester |
Worcester City have told AFC Telford United that their valuation of skipper Chris Smith is still a long way short of the asking price. The Bucks have upped their offer to 5,000 but Worcester chairman Dave Boddy believes that the proposed deal is now dead in the water.
"I'd have thought they'd not come back as they're looking at other players too," he told BBC Hereford & Worcester.
"You would never say never but I think that it is now unlikely."
"It's a dead duck, but that's no surprise," Telford manager Rob Smith told BBC Radio Shropshire. "We'd already turned our attentions elsewhere."
Telford are also trying to finalise details with Macclesfield over striker Michael Husbands, which may turn out to be a long-term loan deal.
