Telford's initial bid for Smith was rejected by Worcester |
Worcester City chairman Dave Boddy says the club have not received any more offers from AFC Telford United for skipper Chris Smith. Telford originaly offered 1,500 for Smith and their chairman Lee Carter said they would up the bid.
But City chairman Dave Boddy told the club's website: "I had a business meeting with Lee Carter, which had been pre-arranged some 2 or 3 weeks ago.
"We discussed the matter but Telford's valuation is still well short of ours."
Boddy added: "There also has to be a willingness to sell the player and a desire for the player to move.
"I explained to Lee that we still believe that we have an outside chance of making the play-offs ourselves and that Chris was an important member of our squad.
"It is unlikely that there will be any further developments."
Smith, who has been out of action since the sides met at St.George's Lane on 29 December with an ankle injury, is hoping to return to the City squad for Saturday's game at Southport.
