Struggling Droylsden fell to their 15th defeat of the season and finished with 10 men as Rushden enjoyed an easy win. Wayne Hatswell converted a corner with a low volley before Michael Rankine doubled the lead in first-half stoppage time with a shot from six yards.
Simeon Jackson made it three from the spot when he was fouled by Lee Roche who was subsequently sent off.
Jody Banim pulled one back with a penalty but Rankine hit back with the third spot kick of the match.
