Daryl Clare struck in the seventh minute of stoppage time to salvage a remarkable draw for Burton Albion. Town were ahead when Jon Shaw latched on to Jake Wright's cross to volley past Kevin Poole and they doubled their lead with a Darren Stride own goal.
Marc Goodfellow pulled one back for the visitors just a minute later as he coolly slotted past Adam Legzdins.
But just as the points looked to be heading Halifax's way, Clare popped up to volley home from 18 yards.
