Two late goals helped Aldershot return to winning ways and cut the gap on leaders Torquay to one point. The defensive-minded Grecians were happy to snuff out Aldershot's attacks and created few chances of their own.
Louis Soares broke the deadlock when he drilled a left-footed shot into the top corner from the left on 75 minutes.
Five minutes later, Joe Grant doubled the lead with a vicious pile-driver from 25 yards out to give Aldershot their seventh win in eight outings.
