Mark Beesley and Stuart Fleetwood scored two goals apiece as Forest Green came from behind to claim victory. Daryl McMahon opened the scoring when he curled a 25-yard shot into the top corner, but Beesley slotted home from Fleetwood's pass to level.
Santos Gaia restored Stevenage's lead when he headed in Adam Miller's free-kick only for Fleetwood's volley to peg them back for a second time.
Fleetwood's low finish and Beesley's curler secured a hard-earned win.
