Dean Howell hit the bar for Rushden with a wayward cross but York took the lead when Richard Brodie fired home.

Andy Burgess took advantage of some sloppy defending to level for Rushden but York regained the lead when Martyn Woolford swept in Paul Brayson's cross.

Michael Rankine made it 2-2 from close range before Kelly put through his own net from a corner and, although Craig Farrell hit the bar, Diamonds held on.
